The evening, organized by Gianni Pastorelli, economic attaché of the Italian Embassy in Prague, was hosted by Andrea Colantoni, an executive search expert and managing partner with EMA Partners Czech & Slovak in Prague.
The club features the tradition of inviting one keynote speaker for every meeting. On January 20, it was Tiziano Giraudo, managing director of chocolate producer Ferrero Česká, to describe how family business Ferrero managed to win the title of the world’s most reputable company by the U.S.-based Reputation Institute in 2009. Later, Carlo Capalbo, promoter of the Prague Marathon and member of the board of the Association of International Marathons and Distances Races (AIMS), introduced Jiří Kejval, vice president of the Czech Olympic Committee, to whom the Italian Ambassador Fabio Pigliapoco gave a prize for the Czech National Team participating in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Members of the club announced the preparation of a document called The Italian Presence in the Czech Republic, which gathers observations from Italian entrepreneurs regarding the Czech business environment. The evening was closed by an opera music moment. The club, which holds meetings in English, aims to build the image of Italian entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic via regular gatherings throughout 2010.
